This page is dedicated to the Midwest F-Body Association (MFBA) Fall Cruise 2000.
What was the Fall Cruise?
Picture 20+ F-Body's all together cruising around southern Wisconsin at speeds approaching 100MPH. The trip was roughly 250 miles originating at Edwards Apple Orchard in Northwestern Illinois and ending in Lake Geneva Wisconsin.
When was it?
The one I attended was October 21st, 2000.
Where was it?
It started at 9:00 am at Edwards Apple Orchard in Northwestern Illinois.
How was it?
The cruise can be summarized with one word... AWESOME. Driving around hilly windy roads at average speeds above 80 MPH, not knowing what was over the next hill, or where the next turn would take you.
7:45 am
I left my house in Wauconda Illinois.
9:15 am
Arrived at Edwards Apple Orchard.

The trip begins
~11:00 am
There was an accident. We were all slowing down preparing to turn left onto country road T when a red S10 pickup rearended a blue TA Convertible. The Blue TA then clipped the rear bumper of the Z28 in front of it.

After the accident, we moved our cars forward about 1/4 mile and regrouped.

Arrived at Maple Leaf Cheese to buy some cheese and gas up.

The next few hours...
The next few hours were spent just driving around southern wisconsin. The roads were hilly and curvy, it was great! We were going over the hills and curves at speeds reaching 100 MPH!!! Screeching tires around turns, passing up slow moving vehicles (whether the center line was solid or not!).

~2:30 pm
Arrived at Mt. Harbor Pub. For some reason I seem to have stopped taking pictures at this point. It was pretty good food, but I don't think they expected some 27 people to walk in. Took a while to get the food!
~4:00pm
Stopped on Route 14 to gas up. At this point I was pretty happy with my gas mileage! Just put my Fast Toys Ram Air kit on, and I'm already getting better mileage! 150 miles on 8.5 gallons of gas = 17.6 mpg. Better than normal.
~4:15 pm
Because of the accident, we had to take a different route to get to Lake Geneva before it got too late. So we took 94 for about 110 miles over to Lake Geneva.
~6:30 pm
Arrived in Lake Geneva and ate at "The Next Door Pub." Good pizza.
~8:30 pm
Left Lake Geneva and headed home. I took 120 to 47 to 14 to 176 :)
All in all the trip was AWESOME.
